At Beginning Of Sentence
Missing Initial Capital letter in a Sentence
In English, we capitalise the first letter of every sentence. There are no exceptions to this rule, even if the sentence begins with a quote which was not originally capitalised.
Incorrect: where are you going and what are you doing?
The first word, “where”, should begin with a capital W.
Incorrect: “…even though I maintain platypuses are strange animals,” said the zoologist.
Even though the quote did not begin with a capital (because the quote begins in the middle of a sentence), “even” begins this sentence. “Even” should have a capital E.
